Servicing Waterford, Riverbank, Escalon, Oakdale, Modesto, and the surrounding areas.
How much time do I have to renew my car registration after my tags have expired?
You may renew your registration at any time, however there are penalties associated with renewing late. California does not allow a grace period for registration renewal. Penalties accrue the day after your tag expires. Late fees depend on when you make your payment.
I need a new month sticker for my license plate.
Absolutely. Perhaps your month sticker got stolen, or maybe it's just faded and ruins your vehicle's appearance. After all, we get new year tags annually. The month sticker stays on the license plate for life. We'll help you get it looking brand new again.
I lost my registration card. Can I get a ticket for not having one?
Yes. Not having a valid registration card in your vehicle while it is being operated or attended is a violation of CVC 4454(a). CVC 4454(a) states every owner, upon receipt of a registration card, shall maintain the same or a facsimile copy thereof with the vehicle for which issued. The section exempts vehicle owners from a violation if the registration card is removed from the vehicle due to registration renewal or transfer of ownership. Short of either of these two scenarios, you may be cited for not having a registration card in your vehicle.
My license plate was lost or stolen. How can I get a replacement?
If your vehicle's license plate(s) were lost or stolen you must apply for duplicate plates immediately. Driving a vehicle without license plates (front and back) is a violation of California Vehicle Code Section 5200(a). The requirements for ordering replacement license plates are:
- You must be the registered owner of the vehicle
- Your current address must be the same as the address on file with the CA DMV
- If you have one license plate remaining, you must surrender it to the DMV by mail or in person
The DMV does not allow ordering replacement license plates online due to vehicle ownership verification and security reasons.
But we can help you ant any of our two locations.
